Culms prostrate.
Blade linear, ca. 11 cm long, 2 mm wide; ligule membranaceous, ca. 0.4 mm long, truncate and minutely fimbriate.
Inflorescence a single raceme, ca. 3 cm long. Spikelets paired, dimorphic, upper pedicelate, reduced, lower ca. 3.2 mm long; joint of rachis sericeous. Lower glume chartaceous, margins slightly folded, 5-nerved, shortly 2-toothed, lanceolate, ca. 3 mm long; upper glume chartaceous, margins folded, slightly fimbriate, 1-nerved, ca. 3.2 mm long. Lower floret reduced. Upper floret membranaceous, ca. 2.5 mm long; lemma deeply 2-cleft, with a flexuous awn ca. 3 times its length of lemma, arising from sinus; palea deltoid-lanceolate, 2-keeled, margins fimbriate.
